These past few months, the relationship between me and my significant
other have not very smooth.
I belive the core if a relationship is trust and understanding.
Unfortunately I don't think she trusts me as much as I trust her. I
can confide my problems in her but she can't do the same for me.
Sometimes it fustrates me when I try to get her to talk bout her
problems to me and all I get is the cold shoulder. It isn't the first
time she did that to me too.
No matter. She has decided to go back to her hometown next year
and not come back so I guess it would be the end of our relationship
which would be almost 2 years by then. Guess I should start letting go
bit by bit... Maybe once she's gone I can go to Melbourne with a less
heavy heart. Sometimes I wonder why is my life so f****d up lol.

I went to the KL Bird Park yesterday with a friend for a photography outing. For RM15 I can photograph all I want there from 9am to 6pm so it's quite worth it. We went there around 12 pm so the lighting was quite harsh and I wanted to stay till the closing hour because the lighting would be much better late afternoon but we went home earlier :P . Anyway, these are my best photos and comments is very much appreciated^^. Here's the link to my gallery. More to be added in time.

After studying Hotel Management for 2 years I finally graduate with a Diploma in Hotel Management. It was truly a joyous occasion with everyone being so happy to finally get their Dips and finding out they got better than expected. Anyway, will post our group photo after I get back from Redang. Heading off in a few hours^^. Feels great to be holding a Dip lol :P

I'll be heading to Redang on the 28th until the 2nd of April. After that I'll be heading down to Johor for the Qing Ming Festival to visit my grandparents and will be back in Kuching on the 6th after spending a day in Singapore. I'll have a lot of photographs to show and there will most like likely be an absence of posts for about a week or so until I get back to Kuching.

Last Saturday I attended a flash workshop help by Sony for Alpha owners. The flash workshop mostly touched on how to operate the Alpha flash and some flash techniques to taking photographs. I however, did not expect that there's going to be a model shoot for the participants to practice what we learnt during the flash. As I don't have a flash yet (HVL-58 aka "Cobra" costs RM1100 -.-" ) I went to the workshop only to be "poisoned" lol. Anyway, there was 2 models, Monique and Kamen. Monique was our model for indoor shooting and Kamen was our model for outdoor shooting. We were divided into 2 groups and my group started with Monique then started photographing Kamen after that. I was pretty hesitant when photographing Monique (my first time shooting models lol) while everyone else where madly clicking the shutter. After some shots, I got the hang of using the flash so I started getting comfortable shooting. Anyway, these are some of my acceptable shots of the Monique...

I forgot where the first 2 pictures were taken. The only thing I remember about them is that they were taken in Wuxi and the last 2 pics were taken in Nanjing, Mausoleum of Dr Sun Yat Sen. The darn charger I bought in Nanjing to replace my lost charger went out of commission today.... The ori sony charger is RM580 which is able to charge 2 batts at one go. Argh... camera crisis T_T

We stayed the night at Pan Pacific KLIA the night before we left for Shanghai the next day. We signed up with the tour with Reliance and the flight to Shanghai was at 9.30am.

Today's class schedule sucked.... Human Resource Management at 9am - 10.30am and the next class was at 4.30 =.= . Anyway, I used some of the time to practice shooting some shots and tested out some of the functions like bracket shots where 3 shots is shot and a time; one underexposed, normal and overexposed; and manual macro shots. These is what I came up with: I think the color of the petals needs to be soften a bit :P

Haha, last year during my previous sem, we had to organize a food promotion and carry it out. That's to say, organize a dinner lol. We were given just over a month for planning on the night itself the food promo was a bomb. We had a theme for that night and the theme was Last Night In Prison. The Star, which was filming a series of shows depicting college life decided to film us in our planning stage and the night itself and the video is finally out. Woot!

I'm so glad that this is my last week of training. Officially, training should have ended last Friday but during the interview, I thought it was a full 2 months so I agreed to work from 1st July to 31st August =.=" . At least I'm getting triple pay for working on the 31st. I wanted to claim my PH on that day but my manager said that they're paying us triple pay so we cannot take off. He told me if i really want, he could put my off day on Sunday meaning I lose my triple pay on that day. Oh well, if I can't get my PH on that day, might as well work. I just hope it's not going to be busy ><"

iPod Touch

Lol, I bought this iPod 52 days ago from an Apple authorized reseller. I enquired at a few places and non Apple resellers were selling it at about RM1300. I bought it at the Apple reseller coz I had an attractive deal. RM 1399 for an iPod with a speaker worth bout RM250 and a silicone casing whereas the other ones were mostly RM1300 for iPod and casing.

Anyway, the iPod Touch is a damn freaking advanced piece of technology. Right now I only have access to half of it's potential coz: I can't install apps. Apple has an update that improves the iTouch and enables apps to be installed BUT for a fee of about USD 15 -.- . What really pisses me off is that iPod Touchs produced after 1st July comes with that update with the same Apple price, a few days after I bought mine ><"""". I have the option of hacking the iTouch but it might damage the iPod and might void the warranty. After hacking u can install lots of apps and I heard that u can install a GBA emulator in the iPod. Imagine playing GBA games on the iPod :P . Instead of installing apps, the iTouch uses web apps which is basically browser based applications which requires wifi most of the time which is a bad thing. Some however, such as a web app that I'm using that enables me to read eBooks on the go, requires you to upload the file before you can access it offline(all you have to do is load it online in your browser before you go offline).

What really like bout the iPod is it's touch screen. It's damn nice. Other touch screen devices require a stylus to be accurate, but the iTouch doesn't. I think it detects the heat distribution or smth like that. So far battery life lasts quite long for me. Maybe that's coz I switch off wifi whenever I'm not using it. However, when using wifi the battery drains fast. Another thing is that it can display any website(unlike my cacated psp browser :P) except those which require flash. There are rumors that Adobe is going to write a Flash player specifically for the iTouch and iPhone without Steve Jobs approval. They approached him b4 but he refused for unknown reasons.

Training can be quite tough .... particularly if there's plenty of
politics here and there. So far I'm unaffected but I'll never know
when I'll be involved....

Btw, if you guys plan to work for Super Dining in the future, I
suggest you don't. They're bad employers. Sure they pay higher than
average but you'll have to marry them. Seriously. They're using us as
free labor too -.- . Friend is getting paid RM4.50 per hour and I'm
only getting RM500 basic per month...

Anyway, I wanna blog bout my iTouch next :P

Damn, the place is nice and it's always full especialy on weekends.
Well, my first weekend working there is coming. Lol, I'm currently the
food runner and I'm going to be busy lol. One thing I truly regret is

Recently I've tried food at 2 outlets in Sunway Pyramid. One is Carls Jr and the other is Kim Gary's. Damn the food in both restaurants is nice. Carls Jr serves burger and I tell u, the burger's are huge! The burger's are quite nice and they use fresh ingredients, the lettuce for example. They simply use one whole lettuce and chuck it on the burger with out cutting whatsoever. Here are the pics.

This blog has not been updated for quite sometime so this is what happened in the pass week

1. During my time in the Kitchen, I've been in the main kitchen, cold kitchen and the pastry kitchen. Cold kitchen was fun. I get to learn how to make various types of sandwiches and salads. I was also under our hotel's chef in charge of the Japanese buffet. He seems a nice guy and I learned a lot from him. Well, pastry is less interesting though... but at least I get to eat cakes :P

2. I've been sleeping in the past few days since I finished my training and enjoying my sleep.

Damn, my internet service has been canceled so I'll find it hard to get online. The only place where I can get internet access for free now is at my dad's shop. My mum canceled the Streamyx service coz my sis was too addicted to Audition.
Anyway, I'm now in the Kitchen. I started the day before and yesterday was fun. Our hotel's Cafe Majestic has Japanese Buffet every Wednesday and Saturday. I was working afternoon shift yesterday so I could sample the buffet items. The food are made with imported Japanese ingredients. You should have seen the Japanese Pancake; it has imported fish flakes on the top of the pancake and the flakes moves, as if alive. Somehow the heat has something to do with that. Even the sashimi bar uses imported seafood, the Salmon is brought in from Norway and the 3 different types of tuna is brought in from Japan. Damn, I can't wait for tomorrow's Euro Buffet.

A Strange Day

Our hotel is currently using the HIS system which is 16 years old. The management upgraded the current system to the Opera system, in which I have experience and training. In a way, it's good for me coz when my boss found out that I have experience in the system, he told me to stay back to help with the transition from HIS to Opera during midnight on the 31st and the 1st of February.
Our work began by transferring the list of in-house guests to Opera. The only way of doing that is to print a list out using the old system and manually entering the data into Opera. We started around 9.30pm and finished at 2.00am on the 1st of February. I went to sleep after that but some of my other colleagues remained to transfer other stuff. Lol, at least I had a room to myself to stay

On the 31st itself, I got a RM100 tip from a group of tourists from China. These tourists were guests in our hotel and they only spoke Mandarin so naturally I dealt with them coz I was one of the 4 staff who knew how to speak Mandarin. About 5.30pm they were asking bout places where they can eat nice local food. They went off after that and returned around 6pm, in a state of panic. Their group was 2 families of 3, mom, dad and child. Both husbands went out so the wives decided to take a stroll and got snatched. The wive who got snatched lost 3 passports, a RM1450 digital camera and RM4oo cash. So since I was the only one who can speak Mandarin during that shift, they insisted on taking me alone to the Padungan station to be a translator ><. And after the report making was done, the husband of the wive who got snatched gave me a hundred bucks! Those 2 families are damn freaking rich. They went to a nearby chinese doctor for treatment(the victim suffered bruises) and I went back to the hotel. I never thought that I would have a free dinner that night. I brought my supervisor who spoke better mandarin along and they insisted that both of us have dinner with them. Lol, it really was a strange day :P

Overdue post

I have been working morning shifts since the second day except 2 days last week when I worked afternoon shift instead, 2pm to 11pm. I prefer afternoon shift though. It's more relaxing than morning shift. I hear a lot of stories involving the afternoon and midnight shift staffs. From the stories I know that Crowne Plaza has some invisible "guests". I heard from my mentor that a guest complained of partying noises, flushing sounds and the sound of people taking shower 2 rooms away. In fact, he was the only guest staying on that floor... Another guest went to sleep on the bed on the left side of the room(twin bedded room) and woke up on the right bed. Give me the creeps but luckily I didn't have to enter the rooms alone :P
Anyway, I'm currently in the Laundry after a week shadowing a Floor Supervisor. I'll be here for 2 more days then I'll move on to Public Area. On the 22nd I'll be in Front Office and I'll have a different schedule. For the rest of the days till the 21st, I'll be working morning shifts from 7.30am/8.00am - 3.30pm/4.00pm.

Industrial training

1st post in a long long time...

Anyway, today was the first day of my industrial training but I only had orientation and briefing on my duties. I'm going to start off with Housekeeping for about 2 weeks then I'm going to move on to Front Office, Food and Beverage then lastly to Kitchen.

The orientation conducted by our HR Manager was very informative and lasted from 8.30am to 3pm. I just found out today that Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Crowne Plaza etc forms a larger company called InterContinental Hotel Group(IHG). All in all, IHG has few hundered hotels in 100 countries O_o . My work schedule is not fixed yet though. Tomorrow I'll be working an 8 hour shift starting from 7.30am tomorrow morning..... damn freakin lazy to wake up le ><

Finish Exams

Finally after studying for 3 terms in Taylor's I've completed my first year. Last Wednesday was the toughest paper for me; Management Tools and Techniques. A paper combining 4 subjects from all 3 terms; Principles of Accounting, Statistics, Business Maths and Plant and Premises. My paper last Thursday was worse. Hospitality Operations consist of 6 subjects; Oenology, Kitchen Ops, Restaurant Technology, Front Office, Housekeeping and Food Hygiene. My 3rd paper on Friday was a breeze. It was Language and Communication. The essay topic was interesting, "Fatherhood should be emphasized as much as motherhood."

Yesterday me, my house mates went to watch the movie Beowulf. Let me warn you first, the movie SUCKS bad. Firstly, it's CGI, not real. Secondly, the storyline sucks; 2 out of five. I just find it not worth to spend your money on that movie. I think Bullet and Brains would make a better movie than this....

I've not been posting for a long time but I expect it to go on for at least a week or two... I'm currently down with Dengue and this is my third day of having it. I contracted it last Wednesday evening. Even nap couldn't take what I was feeling at that time away; which was having high fever and feeling extremely cold at the same time, a great headache, and aches all over my body. These were 4 out of 9 symptoms I got from a Dengue awareness website. Most likely I'll pay another visit to Sunway Medical Center tomorrow as my medication have run out. I'll keep you guys posted of my recovery. May God bless u guys so u'll not get the same thing as me.

Lol, I finally got my new phone. It's not my dream phone the N93i but it's an N series phone, N76. Surprisingly, it's only RM1250 considering it's been only out in the market for 3 months(AP set, compared to ori RM18++) Anyway, the design is based on the Motorola flip phone series but i find it much better. Pictures are worth a thousand words so here are the photos

I've just finished reformatting my laptop. I don't know what happen but after shutting down yesterday, i faced problems trying to start it up today. After a lot of attempts, I called Acer Call Center and they told me how to reformat the computer. Fortunately I can recover my music from a previous backup. The only bad news is I have to install and wait many hours before I can play Burning Crusade again...

Well, it has been quite some time I've posted here. I've started playing World of Warcraft past 2 days and hooked to it. Right now I'm playing on private servers but next month I'll start playing on the official server. Anyway, I'm becoming more active in church here. God is getting me to serve him. I never thought that when Sean(Form 6 in St Thomas last year with Exora and co.) decided to bring me to church, this will ever happen. Right now I'm feeling damn good.

I can finally start blogging at home coz my house mate applied for broadband already.

Yesterday me, my house mate and 2 of his friends went to Sunway Pyramid for the movie Resident Evil: Extinction. The movie is good but for me the second movie is still the best. There's less boss fight action than the previous two titles. Nevertheless, I still find it interesting.

After the movie, we went to McDonald's Ramadhan Buffet. We paid RM25.10 each. Damn, I was so damn full but I had to eat RM25++ worth of food to cover the fee. I managed to eat 3 burgers(Big Mac, Fish-0-Fillet, Double Cheeseburger), a packet of french fries, a packet of McNuggets and 3 cups of coke. I don't think I'll want to go to McDonald's for a while.

Just checked my term 3 timetable. I'll only have Kitchen practical on Monday. This term I seem to be more free: Monday and Wednesday half day, Tuesday and Thursday full day and Friday off. Not that bad considering that my term 2 was a lot busier. Anyway, had kitchen practical today. Lecturer was Chef Tan who was my lecturer for last term's Kitchen Operation. Tomorrow got Intensive English 3 plus room division.

Anyway, now blogging after my final exam for Principals of Accounting and Oenology. I think I can pass for Oenology but for Accounting, I think I'm going to fail coz I failed the previous 2 assessments for Accounting too :(

I think I'm going to fail 3 subjects this term, Accounting(Form 5 Accounting in English), Food Science and Sanitation(BIO all over again, I hate it) and Moral(not that I hate the subject but I miss the 2 assessments this term and can only depend on my final exam).

Hopefully it won't make me fail this whole term.... if it does, hopefully my dad doesn't pull me back from Taylor's. I'm doomed in Form 6!

Unfortunately, this time I lost my phone for sure. I dunno when it happened, but after collecting my WoW board game from Midvalley, my phone was stolen on the way back from there. I took the train from Midvalley and I slept in the train. When I arrived at the train station, i took a cab back to my place. In my europhia i didn't notice my phone missing until I thought of taking a picture of it. So I can't post the Genting pictures anymore and I've lost all my contacts. My dad will be coming soon and we'll see what to do. Maybe can get an N93i :P . Anyway, once I get a new number then I'll post it here then I can get your contacts' again. Btw, the WoW board game is great!

Finally I can get the World of Warcraft board game. I had to pay a deposit of RM200 and it'll arrive here in approx 2 weeks from Blizzard in US. Anyway, looking foward to playing it with you guys in Kuching once I'm back there for my 2 week break starting from the 17th of Sept. Damn, can't wait to get my hands on it. Anyway, now currently in Genting Highlands for the weekend. Taylor's organized trip and one person just need to pay RM2o. We're staying at First World Hotel. Good thing is, dinner(we arrived yesterday) and breakfast provided. Problem is, yesterday we slept so late that we couldn't wake up for breakfast today. I'm also suffering from food poisoning at the same time but luckily it haven't prevented me from having fun until yesterday evening where I had to go see a doc at First World clinic for RM80. Damn, almost RM200 gone in a single day.

After checking in at around 3pm(we arrived at Genting at about 11.30am, put our luggage at the bell counter, had bit of fun at the theme park until 1.30pm where we waited at the lobby for our room keys.) we went to the Ripley's Believe It or Not exhibit. Not very bad coz there's a lot of weird things in there. I'll post the pics in another post. Then we continued to the outdoor theme park(an all-day ticket was included in the trip) until about 7pm where we went for dinner. After that it's back out in the theme park again. Was damn freezing when riding the roller coasters and the Space Shot. We played until 10pm when the park starts closing. We went to the indoor theme park and had some fun. I visited the Haunted Advdenture where Van Helsing's adventure was featured in 3Dx. Damn scary. I went to burger king where I was lucky to win another a large combo value set with my black pepper combo. My friends all went to watch a movie at 1pm at the Genting cinema while I was in the room sleeping.

Now waiting for 2.30pm to meet up to go down by cable car. Will approx arrive at Ridzuan around 6pm.

Well, I've not been blogging for quite some time coz Taylor's deleted my wifi acc with them for maintainance so I had to apply again. Anyway, this few weeks, I been drinking wine regularly, courtesy of my oenology lecturer who started my interest in drinking wine. Anyway, I've invested in a Sony mp3 walkman too. It cost RM 399 for 2 GB flash memory and a pair of noise cancelling headphones. I also almost bought the World of Warcraft board game. Thanks to the fact that I had reached my credit limit, I couldn't buy the board game. Luckily too coz my dad would be happy. Anyway, here's the pic of my new gadget.

Better than Kitchen class

Finally I get to start learning pastry. I think I'll prefer pastry class than kitchen class coz the recipes is very much easier than cuisine recipes. Anyway, today our lecturer just demonstrated a few recipes for us: Creme Caramel and a chocolate butter cake. Damn the cake and caramel is delicious. Unfortunately we'll only have one class every 2 weeks. I can't wait for the next class. My moral studies class is fun coz our lecturer is a very good lecturer. He actually curses in front of the class. One famous quote: "this class is for stupid people who will be thought by stupid and idiot lecturers like me to teach this lan*** subject. So, those smart asses in this class, you're welcome to leave this class right now if you think I bullshit." Damn cool. Anyway, here's some photos of what I learned from my pastry class.

Term 2 began to a good start for me. Had a briefing for Restaurant practical and Kitchen practical. We're going to start serving real customers next Monday. The week after that we're going to be in the kitchen. Alternate weeks. I'm looking foward to the restaurant practicals. We're going to start our pastry lessons this Thursday. Damn, this term's schedule is damn tight: Monday to Thursday 9am to 6pm class. Only on Friday we have free time. :( Anyway, this term subs more interesting so not that bad. Mostly theory: Cuisinse operations, Business Maths(Maths and Add Maths) , Accounting, Oenology, Food and Science Sanitation(Bio all over again).

I got my credit card yesterday! Damn happy. Declared open my card by signing at Kenny Rogers, and bought 2 ori albums at a CD shop. First day I got my credit card I spent RM130. Got to control my self ><. Term finished yesterday and I'm proud to say the exams went through pretty ok except for Cuisine Ops Theory..... Going back this coming Monday!

Today had a presentation of our IT projects which consist of a website, a brochure and a newsletter. I don't know how they set up our exam schedules. Presentation in the morning at 9am to 11am, Restaurant Tech at 2.30 to 3.30pm. So here I am blogging to pass the time. I'm so tempted to play Civ 4 online. Anyway, tomorrow still got 2 exams to sit for(not sure what exam :P) and then holidays! 4 WHOLE days here at my condo before going back to Kch on the 25th. It's going to be damn boring: Only left less than RM40(I had 50 yesterday, RM 30 for Dirge of Ceberus OST and RM 20 for supplies) earned from becoming a student helper for our college's campus day. damn, if I go out sure spend money. Don't know how I'm going to survive. Play PS2 until bored. Play Civ 4 offline until bored. No money to go out.................. Anyway, got to study for exam(a miracle of all miracles) Oh, for my final in the kitchen, I prepared some sort of sauce(forget the French name) with chicken and baked pilaf rice(think nasi minyak). Damn tasteless coz I screwed up ><. I prepared one pot of chicken stock and used some for the chicken but threw away the rest. I was supposed to keep the rest for the sauce so I improvised: water with salt and pepper and butter=damn tasteless. ><

EXAM WEEK!

We had a trial exam 2 weeks ago. That week we prepared steak. The week after that we had steak. This week we had fish fillet and next week, the final exam! Hopefully can make it out alive..... Oh, our restaurant practical lecturer is going to Macau and yesterday was her last day in college. Too bad she can't stay and teach us in term 2.. I heard she's going to Macau to open a casino hotel in a contract so she told us to contact her if drop by there. maybe can work there. :P

Best Camp of My Life

Sorry, this event was last Saturday but this week was very busy for me. Plenty of projects and my term is going to end soon in 2 weeks. Man, time flies.

Anyway, looks like joining Ninjutsu is a good thing. It's fun! Anyway, packed for the camp on Saturday and left in my senpai's car half an hour later. The venue was at Bukit Cahaya, about an hour's drive from Mentari Court. We arrived there at 10am and waited for the sensei to register us. The camp had cost me RM5o. Anyway, the sensei, reminds me of Cikgu Yusof coz he likes to insult people or smth like that. He is 5 times worse than Cigku Yusof. Not only that, he likes to 'molest' guys too :S

Anyway, from the entrance, we marched towards the venue of our obstacle course. Before we start entering the course, we were taught how to walk stealthily. That's the hardest thing to do especially when trying to land softly after a jump. We're also supposed to make our way silently through the jungle with plenty of dry leaves on the ground. (there were 10 black belts hidden along the course to "kill" anyone who was moving noisily. I got caught twice..... by sensei so I got molested ><). A really grueling test. Luckily for the heavy rain at that time, the noise of my footsteps was covered by the rain.

After the course, we had a hour for lunch. Then we headed to the changing rooms to change into our gi. Naturaly I don't have one so I was just dressed in a pair of jeans and a t-shirt. We made our way to a uphill slope for stealth training. This time, we were supposed to make our way

stealthily and quietly up to the top of the hill, and learned to run down the hill ninja style. Which is to run stealthily. How am I supposed to do that I don't know. I just ran normally coz a lot of the others was doing the same. A black belt did that though. All I knew was that a black belter passed me without a sound. Incredible After that we went to the swimming pool to learn water techniques like learning to breathe underwated with a pvc pipe. I didn't bother to try it though, coz I was enjoying my dip in the pool(no sexy lenglois, guys) after a good exercise.

We had our dinner at 7pm and had an hour's rest. The rest of our training was based at an open air arena. There we had training for various techniques. The first one was to train oneself to be able to sense sakki which is the killing intention someone have towards you. Imagine you standing in the middle of a circle and 5-10 people standing around you. You have to detect who has sakki towards you out of the 5-10 people. Then we trained our counter-techniques blind folded, train to counter an enemy WITH a sword BLIND, and later against TWO. That was difficult, especially when our sensei had made sure that you can see anything through the blind fold. I got 'killed many times stabbed, sliced, head chopped off..............................

10pm. My favourite event of the night: the war games! There was about 60 people in our camp, so we were divided into 4 groups. The game is like this. Each group will attempt to infiltrate the military base(the open air arena) without being detected. I was so darn excited! Finally I can experience what Sam Fisher experiences during missions! Anyway, I was in the second group so we played as the Guards first. We had about 16 people so we divided our group. 6 people will patrol the surrounding areas and the other 6 will be the perimeter guards. Our job is to kill any Infiltrators we see by touching them with our wooden swords.

Before that, I'll try and give a picture of the area. Imagine the arena in the center of a map. A swimming pool is located southeast of the arena but closer to the east arrow. Wooden chalets will be south of the arena. From northwest to southwest, there are mainly thick bushes and trees and chalets. Directly north of the arena will be an uphill slope and a single building, is located at the peak. Northeast is a small carpark area, again, closer to the east arrow.

Back to the story. I was a perimeter guard guarding the foot of the hill. It was uneventful apart from the few false alarms. I saw movement at near the building but it was an ally. Each round will last 20 minutes so the Guards win if all the Infiltrators is killed or if 20 minutes pass. We won the round because of the time limit. Next round will be our turn to be the Infiltrators: the moment I'm waiting for.

I had no gi so I had to wear a black pants and borrow my senior's gi and black coloured balaclava. It was SO cool, dressed completly in black from head to toe! I was really invisible in the shadows! We started the round off by walking to our starting point, the small carpark area. There we split up. Me and another 2 seniors headed towards the hill. We would make our attempt from there. The round will officially start when our sensei blows the whisel. I was hidden in the shadows of a tree, a few feet away from the lighted building(a surau actually) and the path around the surau. One of my seniors headed down the hill and I didn't know where he was while the other was a few feet away from me near the thick bushes. I was too concentrated on watching the Guards' patrol patterns nearby that I didn't notice my senior(the one nearby me) signal me to continue down the hill. He gave up trying to signal me then he made his way down. So, I sort of became their cover because the Guards' patrol route took them near to my position. I was on guard when I saw someone coming. At first I thought that he was a guard but from my observation, he was my group's kamikaze, the decoy(my heart was pumping so loudly that I can hear it!). He was leaning against the wall of the building and didn't notice a guard behind him. The guard tapped him on his shoulder. Two others was behind the guard and was looking around, all three a few feet away from me, and they didn't see me! Dang, adrenaline was pumping through my whole body. That happened another 2 times before I was caught attempting to run away. In the end, we won. Our group had only one surviving member and he took his time to infiltrate the place. After all the rounds, we had a round against the black belters. They infiltrated the place in 10 MINUTES! We were the only group that had a successful infiltration and that took us almost 20 minutes!

I went for a trial ninjitsu class with my friend last Wed. It's cool. We started of by pairing up and the uke would learn to evade the punch and the tori would fall. Ukemi on HARD tiles. That wasn't so bad. Anyway, after that, guess what: the sensei took a wooden samurai and asked us to try and dodge each strike! I was thinking cool. Very nice. Later they taught us finger breaking techniques and how to attack someone with a weapon like a dagger or a sword.

Thursday, 17th May

Had my kitchen practical. Today we learned how to make roux(pronounced rue), thickening agents. I made white roux, blond roux, and brown roux. I tasted the all the roux but I think the blond roux taste the best. Imagine the taste of mash potatoes. It taste something like that. In the afternoon, I had my mid-term assessment for Restaurant Technology. It was only 4 pages. I didn't study for it but I think I can pass.

Friday, 18th

Had a not as nice restaurant practical class today. Too bad Miss Chen came down with high fever and got admited to hospital so someone else took over her class. Anyway, we practiced setting up tables and had a role play where 2 will pair up and one will be the guest. The other will practice serving. Went online in the afternoon then had a short online session with Civ 4. My friend came in later then she started editing our group's presentation. Chatted with Sam, Viv and Ced after that. Found out that Ced was coming to KL this Sunday. Ced, looking foward to our meeting.

Sorry guys, haven't been blogging for a long time now. Past few days ago I've made the call to ask someone to install a phone line and Streamyx for me. So, probaly I can start going online everyday again in a few weeks. I'm going to get my supplementary credit card in a few days and I've started wearing contacts. I bought them yesterday. Don't know if you guys can recognize me when I go back at the end of June coz Exora certainly didn't until I spoke to her :P I think that's about it for the good news. Went out in the morning to have breakfast. I had "kan pua" mee. I missed eating it, in KL I can't find it. I can't find tomato mee and kolo mee too. Anyway, after collecting my mykad, I went home and played Stalker Shadow of Chernobyl. Damn the game is good! Too bad I can't finish playing it in 2 days.

I'm going to play it again once I go back. My flight back to KL was at 3.05pm and I got back to my condo at around 10pm at night. Long story. Damn, I want to play Stalker!

Had an early start today. Woke up at 6.30am to get ready for my trip back to Kuching. I had to check in 2 hours before departure time so I left LCCT at about 10am and arrived here about 11.30am. The moment I arrived home I left for Pizza Hut at S'wak Plaza. Ate lunch there then we watched Spiderman 3. Not a bad movie, in fact I think it was the best among the 3 movies. Then we went to Hock Lee centre then after that we went to iGloo. Sent Zhe Rong back then I'm back home.

Orientation Night

Went for ice skating with Shannon, Philbert, Joanne and June. It wasn't that bad and it was quite fun. The orientation night was quite nice. There was free food there but there was a long line waiting for the food. Anyway, there was plenty of performances like breakdances, singing and there's even a Ninjitsu demo. For me that was the best part of the show. From 7.30pm to 10.00pm was the performances. After the performances, they opened a dance floor at 10.05pm to 12am. I didn't join in coz I don't know how to dance and must be quite embarassing to not know how to dance in public. :(

Thursday

First class in the morning is my Cuisine Operations, my fav but not very good in it :( Anyway, today we learnt some other techniques for preparing potatoes, and how to 'refresh' certain vegies etc. Fried some potatoes, cooked some spagheti, prepared some fondue, cut some carrots then we had free lunch! We had the spagheti that we prepared for lunch together with some fried(not actually fried but I can't recall the word for the process) potatoes and boiled carrots. Delicious! Pictures will come later coz I forgot to charge my phone and it ran out of battery.
The spagheti was not enough so I went for lunch at the nearby coffee shops :P Oh, and I cut my finger, the third person to have an injury in my group. That's when things started going wrong.
After lunch, went for my Rooms Division class(theory) in Classroom 24. Then I attended my Restaurant Operations in another class. I then realised that my phone and my wallet was missing! Really scarry.

Friday

Another of my favourite class! Restaurant Operations(practical). As usual my lecturer had a grooming inspection. This time I only had long fingernail problems. Anyway, our lecturer made us walk around outside again with 3 desert plates. That apparently was not enough for her coz she made us carry DINNER plates the second time. Man, the plates are heavy. After class I decided to go check my belongings at the lost and found counter. I got a pleaseant surprise, apparently someone was kind enough to submit my wallet without any missing money and my phone to the counter. Thank God for that. Going for ice skating later :) and for the orientation night at our campus. Looking foward to it.

"Interesting" Day

Some people told me to use the word interesting. Lol, anyway, today's class was pretty okay, plenty of fun. Had a fun game for Room Operations practical. Something like Taboo but this time there were no words involved and only sign language is allowed. We were supposed let our own members guess the things found in a hotel room just by sign language alone. Pretty funny seeing some of us trying to present their message. All in all, it's a good day for me. Looking foward to tomorrow in the Kitchen! :)

Boring class

Today I had class at one of the IT labs for Computer Studies. We will learn how to use Power Point, how to design web pages etc. Now I know how to design a simple webpage. After that I had Business of Hospitality and Tourism. The lecturer is boring. Mondays and Fridays are great coz only half day.

Quite fun today. Got my uniforms 2 days ago and I just open my waiter's uniform today. Got bombed by our teacher Ms Sophie Chen for not ironing my uniform. Great lecturer I must say. She made us carry 3 dessert plates and walk around the entrance of the mock restaurant that we are using for our lesson. It was quite a funny experience. Can you imagine the number of cutleries that we learn about? I have to learn about 25 types of cutleries, more than 5 types of crockeries(china) and more than 10 types of glasses. Actually there are more than 50 types of wine glasses made for each type of wine. Cool isn't it?

Yesterday was my first practical in the kitchen. Learnt various cutting techniques to cut vegetables, potatoes etc. Learnt to use a variety of equipments, and I prepared my own Criss-Cut fries! In French it's called Granfrettes potato. Two people cut their fingers today. Hope that their injury heal soon.

Life at Taylors

Well, finally i got my laptop so I can start blogging again. Anyway, first day I arrived here I checked into my condo.

Those are pictures of my accomodation. At least it's bigger compared to Kevin and Kenny's room :P

After unpacking my things I went to Sunway Pyramid. That's 15 minutes walk from my condo. I'm training one thing constantly here: my legs. Coz I don't have a car here and taxi fares are expensive, the common modes of transportation for me and my house mates is the trains. A lot of walking. Walk until my leg want to break.

Went shopping for books the day before and bought one of my textbooks. Larouse Gastronomique. It costs RM327. Biggest investment. On my orientation day I was required to take an English Placement Test. We were then divided into 8 groups. I was placed in group 1 so I am excluded from taking English in college. Band 5 and above is placed into group 1.

We played Truth or Dare, Ice Breaker and some Uno games.
Cedric had a very fond memory having his hair bitten by a particularly agressive terapin(some kind of tortoise). Had plenty of laughter with questions. And they, tortured me :P. They made me sing the ABC song while dancing. I'm sure Cedric and Wen Qi must have posted it somewhere on the net. So malu...........

That's the birthday cake. When I ordered it, I never expected it to be so big. It's the size of 2 cake trays. The big ones. After eating the cake, Cedric and co still had cake to bring back.
Lol, hopefully they like them. Cassie was lucky coz she didn't bring back any.

Today I went to pay for my course fees for the first term. Including accommodation, it totalled up to almost RM10k. I also got my flight booked from Kuching on the 7th of April at 1.55pm. Sorry Cassie, can't attend your birthday again :( My term starts on the 10th of April. Anyway, I'll have enough time to watch Judo before I go off. That means no more youth except for the sales coming this Sunday and I don't know if I should go for Judo of the Sales. Darn, and I got music lesson too! I just found out that Kevin is sharing a room with Kenny, taking the same course as Kenny and in the same college. At least I'll have an extra friend.

Well, I've just got my offer letter from Taylor's yesterday. I asked Kenny how long it would take for the offer letter to arrive and he told me 2 weeks. So actually I was expecting it today. Anyway,so it's confirmed that I'll be going over. Unfortunately, I just found out that I'll be going to Taylor's College PETALING JAYA! All the while, I thought I'll be going to the one at Subang Jaya. Looks like I'll be alone then. Coz i think they will be staying at either Ridzuan Condo or My Place. Nevertheless, I think we'll be able to meet up.
